On December 2, Bangladeshi Hindus in Canada organized a protest over the arrest of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. The arrest was made on charges of sedition after Das allegedly raised a flag on a stand displaying Bangladesh’s national flag. This sparked widespread outrage within the Hindu community, and protesters in Canada raised slogans while holding pictures of Das, demanding his immediate release. In response to the growing unrest, ISKCON called on its global followers to unite in prayer for the safety of devotees and religious minorities in Bangladesh. On December 1, ISKCON urged its followers to visit their local centers for special prayers and kirtan (devotional chanting) in support of those facing persecution. The movement aimed to bring attention to the safety concerns of religious minorities in Bangladesh and to promote peace and unity amidst rising tensions in the country.
