The jackpot in Friday's drawing for Mega Millions has surged past $1 billion.

It is one the biggest possible prizes in the game's history. The drawing will be held at 11 p.m.

No Mega Millions tickets matched all six numbers on Christmas Eve, so the jackpot rose to an estimated $1.15 billion. It is potentially the fifth-largest jackpot in the game's history.
