I have successfully modified my Walkera G-2D Gimbal, to work with most GoPro format action cameras.

This Walkera Gimbal Modification will also work with both Walkera G-2D, and G-3D models. BUT REMOVE CHIP FIRST to avoid overheating.
I am very happy with the results, I can now balance my Git2 easily, without the need to add any counter weights, and the same applies to my Very Old original SJCam 4000.
Your GoPro will still work in the gimbal after the mod, so its an all round winning situation.
P.S. WALKERA could easily implement my mod into their production gimbal if they wanted to. or create a new camera plate with the cutout already done.
To do my modification, you will need a Dremel Tool, or something similar with a small grinding stone attachment.
You then proceed to grind a small section of metal, or plastic from your gimbal camera plate, this will allow your camera to slide left, and right, and result in a near perfect action camera balance on your gimbal.
