Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe says the Voice to Parliament referendum should be abandoned as the proposal is powerless for Indigenous Australians.
“It’s not going to get down into the weeds and create a more just society for our people,” Ms Thorpe told Sky News Australia.
“That starts with the recommendations into deaths in custody, also the Bringing Them Home report which has been sitting on the shelf there for what, 30 years.”
