Although the procurement of early warning surveillance aircraft or airborne early warning and control system (AWACS) for the Indonesian Air Force is still in the initial planning stage, however, the related domestic industry has prepared the necessary strategic steps, especially if the end user (the Indonesian Air Force) has determined the technical specifications and the availability of budget support for the purchase.
President Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Gita Amperiawan accompanied by the Board of Directors and Management received a visit from Havelsan, a Turkish defense technology company, at PT DI's facility in Bandung. This visit is part of a follow-up to the previously agreed cooperation between the two companies, which focuses on the development of a Full Flight Simulator, as well as the readiness of both parties to meet Indonesia's needs for AWACS aircraft.
