Guadalajara is the capital city of the Mexican State Jalico. Situated in the western-Pacific region of Mexico, Guadalajara has more than five million residents and is considered as the second most populous city in Mexico. One of the important attractions in the city is the Guadalajara Cathedral. This historical cathedral was constructed in 1561. In 1818, the Cathedral was destroyed because of an earthquake and underwent major reconstruction. In 1875, another earthquake destroyed the Guadalajara Cathedral and when it was reconstructed, a dome was added to it. The Cathedral is constructed with various influences from baroque to neoclassical top Moorish and even Gothic styles.
