Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the Polyga Compact industrial-grade portable 3D scanners.
The Polyga Compact is a lineup of handheld 3D scanning systems with high quality digitization, which includes three models with different scan areas and accuracy.
Compact 3D scanners are manufactured by the Canadian company Polyga, which specializes in the development and production of 3D scanners and dedicated software. The devices are based on structured light technology powered by LEDs.
The maximum field of view of the C504 model is 15 by 13 centimeters, with an accuracy of up to 6 microns. The device is designed for digitizing objects ranging in size from 5 millimeters to 3 centimeters — for example, such small parts as screws, bolts, coins, seeds, etc.
The C506 is intended to scan objects from 3 to 10 centimeters with an accuracy of 12 microns. It is a convenient tool for scanning such objects as circuit boards and critical components in small machines. Its maximum scanning area is 45 by 30 centimeters.
The C210, in turn, is designed for scanning larger parts — for instance, historical artifacts, art objects, shoes. With a maximum scanning area of 154 by 100 centimeters, the device can be used to digitize objects ranging in size from 5 to 30 centimeters with an accuracy of 35 microns.
The C504 and C506 models are equipped with two monochrome five-megapixel cameras, while the C210 is equipped with two-megapixel cameras.
The data captured during the scanning is processed using the FlexScan3D software, which is also used to generate the final three-dimensional models.
Polyga Compact 3D scanners are easy to use, set up and maintain. All three models have an aluminum body while the weight of a single unit does not exceed two kilograms. The scanners are water and dust proof with an IP67 rating, and can be used in industrial environments. The devices can be used both individually and as part of more complex systems and equipment.
The lineup continues to expand with new devices and modifications. Today, the series also includes two entry-level models, the S1 and S1 Wide, and the L6 scanner for capturing large objects.
Polyga recommends using the Compact series of scanners for reverse engineering, machine vision, scientific measurement and quality control, also as a tool for 3D modeling and rapid prototyping.
