In this week's video Olivia Hops talks about why telling people they have "high" functioning Autism isn't a compliment, but a back-handed one!
I go over why the "high" and "low" functioning labels don't work. Autism isn't a linear line, but a giant circle with endless possibilities! Just because someone may appear "high" functioning, it doesn't mean they don't have struggles. It doesn't make them any "less" Autistic. It just means they're better at hiding their autistic traits to appear "normal."
