Berliner Philharmoniker and Sakari Oramo have recorded Rued Langgaard's Symphony No. 1. Rued Langgaard (1893-1952) was an outsider in Danish music life in his own time and has only in recent years had his international breakthrough. Now Langgaard's music is facing a new highlight when his Symphony No. 1 will be released by Dacapo Records in a new recording by the Berliner Philharmoniker, the first orchestra to perform the symphony in 1913 and to acknowledge what a masterpiece the teenage Langgaard had created.
