Aorta enter abdomen at the level of T12 and ends at L4 level
Branches can be divided into many ways such as
1. Ventral braches - Celiac, SMA, IMA
2. Posterior branches - 4 pairs of Lumbar a., Median sacral a.
3. Lateral branches - Inferior phrenic a., Middle suprarenal a., Renal a., Gonadal a.,
4. Terminal branches - Common iliac a.
Can also be classified as
1. paired and unpaired branches,
2. Visceral and parietal branches.
Levels of branches
T12 - Celiac axis
L1 - SMA (superior mesenteric a.)
L2 - Renal a.
L3 - IMA (Inferior mesenteric a.)
L4 - Common iliac a.
