This briefing explores the current state of long COVID, also known as post-COVID conditions — the long-term effects that some patients experience from their infection with the virus that causes COVID-19.Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia and Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia’s 8th Congressional District outline proposed legislation and policies to advance care for patients with long COVID. Speakers share what the latest federally funded research is telling us about this complex condition. Additionally, physicians from the UVA Health Long COVID Clinic and a patient experiencing long COVID discuss what those who suffer from long COVID need from both a clinical and personal perspective.
