NASA Artemis I SLS Rocket LAUNCH - 16th November 2022

Watch as NASA launches their Artemis I mission on the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER on Wednesday 16th November 2022 from Launch Complex 39B (LC-39B) at NASA's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The launch is targeted at 1:04 am EST but launch commenced at 1:47 am EST after multiple delays.

Note: This launch has been scrubbed multiple times due to leaks, unforeseen problems and Hurricanes. This is the first launch of this rocket and will be a huge step in space flight.

The rocket launches an uncrewed Orion spacecraft on a six-week mission around the Moon and back to Earth. During #artemis I, Orion will lift off aboard the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, and travel 280,000 miles (450,000 km) from Earth and 40,000 miles (64,000 km) beyond the far side of the Moon, carrying science and technology payloads to expand our understanding of lunar science, technology developments, and deep space radiation.

Through Artemis missions, NASA will pave the way for a long-term lunar presence, serving as a stepping stone to send astronauts to Mars.
