I shot this German Air Force/Luftwaffe Airbus A400M Atlas (Callsign: GAF409HEAVY, Registration# - 54+06, Serial# - 041, Delivered: December of 2016) earlier this afternoon landing onto Runway 33 at the Charleston International Airport in North Charleston, South Carolina, after a short flight down from Washington Dulles International Airport in Arlington, Virginia. GAF409HEAVY is a part of the German Air Force’s/Luftwaffe’s Air Transport Wing 62 (i.e., Lufttransportgeschwader 62), which is based at Wunstorf Air Base in Neustadt am Rübenberge/Wunstorf, Lower Saxony, Germany.
