I've only had my new 2022 Kawasaki KLR 650 Adventure for a couple weeks now...but you know I just had to get it out and put it to the test on some of my favorite local off road riding areas as soon as I could. This is my first real new KLR 650 off road adventure, and I have to say I came away impressed with how well the bike performed. This wasn't hard enduro territory or anything like that, but I got a good sense of how well the 2022 KLR 650 performs on what I'd call typical conditions for most dual sport and adventure riders. We took on some unmaintained gravel roads, some mud, a few loose rocky hillclimbs, and over, around, and through the forest. We even rode the new KLR 650 to the top of Dork Mountain to take in the magnificent views of the Oregon Cascades.

As to whether or not the new 2022 KLR 650 off road performance is adequate, I'd have to say I think it was very easy to ride even in these less than perfect off road conditions. Some people doubt the KLR 650 off road capabilities, but I think it'll take just about anything your typical dual sport or adventure rider will throw at it with flying colors. It's not the most hardcore or lightest adv/dual sport bike out there, but the 2022 KLR 650 Adventure will get you where you need to go, off road or on.
