The new French cabinet held its first meeting on Thursday in Paris. The ministers streamed into the Elysee presidential palace on Thursday morning, a day after their line-up was announcement. Macron named a mix of prominent and unknown figures from the left and the right on Wednesday to make up the government tasked with pushing through his plans to reduce labour protections, tighten European unity and boost military spending.
