The Metropolitan Police has confirmed it is in contact with the BBC regarding allegations an unnamed male presenter paid a teenager for sexually explicit images.
The BBC has suspended the presenter following urgent talks with the Culture Secretary with the corporation's Director General assuring staff he was taking the claims "incredibly seriously".
