In March 2007, a little over a thousand Priora sedans rolled off the assembly line, and sales began on April 21, 2007. The release of the hatchback model began in February 2008. A modification with a station wagon body was shown at the Krasnodar Motor Show in October 2008, and the production of a variant with this body began on May 27, 2009. In addition, AvtoVAZ produced in small series a modification of the "coupe" (brand designation of the three-door hatchback) and led the development of a convertible based on it.
Since the beginning of 2009, the Priora family has completely ousted the LADA 110 family from the assembly line. As of May 16, 2012, 650,000 cars have been produced. In 2011, there were minor changes to the car - the front bumper, rear-view mirrors and steering wheel were replaced. New features have been added. Also in the “standard” configuration, a new 8-valve engine with a lightweight connecting rod and piston group was installed.
In September 2013, the car was restyled. Thanks to the changes, comfort, safety have increased, and the appearance has been refreshed. The driving characteristics of the car have been modernized. The head optics were equipped with daytime running lights, sound insulation was improved, and the ESC system was added to the options.
In September 2014, AvtoVAZ began production of the LADA Priora AMT version, equipped with a robotic gearbox. This is the company's own development, created on the basis of a standard five-speed gearbox using electric actuators and an electronic control unit from ZF.
Since 2015, all cars of the LADA Priora family have been fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox VAZ-2181 with a cable-operated gear shift. It has the same shift layout as the classic Zhiguli: reverse gear is engaged to the right and back.
In December 2015, the production of hatchbacks and station wagons, variants with a 98 hp engine was completed. with., as well as cars with a robotic gearbox. On April 21, 2017, the millionth Priora rolled off the assembly line. On May 22, 2018, it was announced that LADA Priora will be discontinued in July 2018.
On June 30, 2018, the supreme leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, made an inspection trip to military unit No. 1524 in a LADA Priora car, as reported by the Korean and Russian media.
On July 6, an updated Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the LADA Priora car appeared in the Rosstandart database. Previously, the document was limited to December 2018, now - until December 6, 2019, thus obtaining permission to release the car before that time. Moreover, the new OTTS indicated that the sedan was transferred to the 92nd gasoline due to the replacement of injectors. That is, AvtoVAZ worked on optimizing the model to the last. Now the media are claiming that the extension of the OTTS was a technical error of the certification body.
On July 16, a photo of the last body of the LADA Priora in the welding shop of the car factory, decorated with colored balloons and covered with a poster with the inscription "Last!", appeared on the network. The photo was taken on July 13 at about 2 pm (on the poster in the photo another date is indicated - July 11). The model will still be assembled using previously welded bodies, including the last one, for several days.
