Using impossible beef in place of meat made it so easy. Delicious impossible meatballs and potatoes baked in tomato sauce. It is a vegetarian version of a classic Turkish dish called “İzmir Köftesi”. You can either bake or cook this food. Even meat lovers will love this delicious dish.
As I mentioned in the video, this recipe is so versatile, and here are some ideas for you to make this meal :
- Feel free to store-bought meatballs of your choice.
- No oven? No worries you can cook this food on the stove in the same way.
- If you have a dutch oven, you can start cooking it on the stove and then bake it for 15 minutes.
- You can fry the vegetables and meatballs and then take them into a baking dish, pour the tomato sauce and bake them until the tomato is cooked.
- You can add boiled potatoes to quicken the baking process. Before you start preparation, peel and boil the potatoes and they will be ready to go when you’ll bake.
- You can freeze the meatballs in advance and bake them when needed. You don’t need to thaw them, simply add them to the dish and lower the oven temperature to 190°C / 370°F
- Feel free to flatten the meatballs or form them into small football shapes.

1 potato
1½ capsicum
4 garlic cloves
1 onion
2 tbsp sunflower oil
2 tbsp butter (optional)
-- For the Meatballs --
340 g Impossible Beef (1 package) or the brand you prefer
1 egg
3 tbsp bread crumbs
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
-- For the Sauce --
4 tomatoes (grated)
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp oregano
1½ cups hot water (750ml)
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
