Prof Abhilash S Nair has done his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He has been a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. He is a Professor in the Finance, Accounting and Control Area of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Abhilash teaches courses on Corporate Finance, Valuation and Real Options, Corporate Valuation and Project Finance. In 2011, he was conferred the Best Professor of Financial Management award by CMO CouncilTM Asia Pacific. He has participated in the Global Colloquium on Participant Centered Learning (GloColl) at Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A. His research interests are in asset pricing models, market microstructure, and regulatory economics. He has published in international journals such as Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics and International Journal of Finance and Economics. He has consulted companies such as Multi Commodity Exchange, Kerala State Electricity Board, Cochin Shipyard Ltd., etc. He comments on public policy issues on infrastructure, commodity derivatives, state and central budgets. He is also a member of the Primary Markets Advisory Committee of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He is also an advisor to, BFSI skill development initiative of the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) of the Government of Kerala.
