I built this bee trap in August of 2019 to help contain a pestilence of carpenter bees which were destroying my deck. I installed it at the end of the season but was only able to lure two bees in with sugar water. I left them in there and just so happened to look at it the other day and noticed a lot of bees. It is now the end of February 2020 and there are 15 or so. What I have learned is they will reuse previous years holes and the scent from other bees must lure them back so leave the dead ones in there.
