Grimsby was the largest fishing port in the world during the 1950s, but the town has faced almost the complete loss of the industry and there are just four trawlers left.

'Skint' Season 2 is the follow-up to the well-received season 1 located in Scunthorpe. This series follows several individuals in the East Marsh area of Grimsby.

In this first episode, we follow a fisherman who struggles to cope with life on the land after 40 years at sea, getting under the feet of his fiancée who has enough on her plate with four kids and an ill father. We also meet Ryan who is looking to rebuild his life and find job but facing rejection due to his electronic tag.
