Jigs are a great bait for fishing and you don't need to set the hook with everything you've got. Also you don't need a super long rod handle to fish lighter jigs. Be sure to put some orange color on your creature bait that you're using as a jig trailer. Scott stops using compact jigs and starts using 1/2oz of 5/8oz jigs, flipping and pitching to any shoreline target.
