Bay Vision Virtual Meetup, held on July 27, 2022
AI Assisted Surgery for Next Generation Interventions
Host: Moshe Safran – CEO of RSIP Vision USA
Guest speaker: Dr. Sophia Bano – Sr. Research Fellow at University College London / WEISS
Recent trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and surgical data science have shown promising technical advancements in imaging, surgical navigation and robotic intervention. We are moving towards a new era of AI-assisted robotic surgery with technologies having the potential of providing more stability, guidance and decision support during surgery, leading towards reducing surgeon’s cognitive load and procedural time. This talk will highlight AI applications in different surgical procedures and where we stand in terms of their clinical translation for moving towards next generation of surgical intervention.
