I'm Francesca, a French fashion journalist and fashion video editor specialized in Fashion Weeks and based in Paris, and this is my up-close and personal review of Paris Haute Couture Spring Summer 2022 Fashion Week!
If you are new to this channel, welcome and please let me introduce you my methodology to provide these Fashion Trends Reviews I edit after every season of Fashion Weeks. First things first: you might not be used to the fashion universe, and you have no idea of what a Fashion Week is. Fashion Week is an event during which ultimate selected fashion designers and fashion houses unveil their collections for the upcoming seasons in a series of runway shows and presentations to buyers and media influencing the fashion industry. It is the most important performance of the fashion industry as these collections define the upcoming fashion trends and influence the entire production line of the fashion trade, and surely other industries.
To be in a position to define these Fashion Trends Reviews, I scrupulously attend every show personally or digitally. New York, London, Milan and Paris, that means more than a thousand shows depending on the season. Then, it is my expertise and experience in fashion that allow me to understand and define the upcoming fashion trends, based on my understanding and knowledge of the evolution of fashion.
The American fashion designer Daniel Roseberry explored the Surrealist roots and heritage of the fashion house Schiaparelli, and unveiled a collection of sculptural creations in the house's signature color palette, magnifying the definition of Haute Couture though the showing of and exceptional savoir-faire.
At Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrated the excellence of craftsmanship with embroidery as central element of the collection, and through the collaboration with Chanakya workshop in Mumbai. Designed un a minimalist and restraint color palette of neutral tones, the silhouettes magnify the essence of Maria Grazia Chiuri's architectural work in the fashion design.
With Charlotte Casiraghi opening the runway riding on a horse, the collection is giving the tone of Virginie Viard's personal vision of couture. The creative director of Chanel witnesses that couture doesn't have to be necessarily extravagant and can be worn in everyday life.
Inspired by the 20's, "Les années folles", the French fashion designer Alexandre Vauthier presented a couture collection expressing the return of socialite life through glamorous silhouettes influenced by Old Hollywood and with Art Déco references.
