Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 1st February with a significant focus on infrastructure which includes big push in highways expansion, railways, river linking, PM housing scheme, Nal se Jal scheme and infra development projects in North-Eastern states. Seeking to step up public investment, the govt has raised capital expenditure by 35.4 percent to 7.5 lakh crore or 2.9 percent of GDP.
