The 50 Paise coins were released without the term "Naye". These coins were minted during 1964-1971 from Bombay and Calcutta Mints. Unfortunately there were no coins in 1965 and 1966.

The coins were made of Nickel weighing 5 grams with 24 mm diameter and circular in shape.

On the Obverse, Ashoka Lion Capital with lettering भारत INDIA. At the reverse, Denomination and Date with lettering रूपये का आधा भाग, 50 पचास पैसे.

Most of the coins are considered as common and valued approx Rs 25 to Rs 150.
