Liverpool reclaimed top spot in the Champions League as they earned a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo ensured the Reds ended their hoodoo against the Spanish champions at the ninth attempt, while Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe both missed penalties.

And Liverpool reporter David Lynch was there to take in another fine performance from Arne Slot's men that established them as favourites to win the European Cup.
