With the success of the Vande Bharat trains, the Railway Department is making preparations to make them available to the general public. Although the common man wants to board the fully air-conditioned Vande Bharat train that reaches Bengaluru from Kachiguda in just eight and a half hours, the ticket price of Rs.1,600 puts them back. With the more comfortable executive coach ticket costing Rs.2,550, there is no reason for common travelers to look away.
In this background, now the railway department is making fast arrangements to make even the most common people experience the Vande Bharat train. Railway sources say that non-AC trains are likely to run in the next three months. Railway department is rapidly preparing 'Vande Sim' non-AC train coaches.
It is known that due to the success of the Vande Bharat trains, the work of upgrading them has started. Currently these trains leave in the morning and return again till 12 at night. The Railways, which has recently started manufacturing sleeper Vande Bharat trains to travel to remote areas, is also manufacturing non-AC regular trains in parallel. Officials claim that the first train will be ready by next January at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.
It is informed that Shatabdi trains will be phased out and replaced by Vandebharat trains. Also the new sleeper Vande Bharat trains will take the place of Rajdhani trains. It is said that there is a possibility of removing the regular conventional trains in a phased manner and replacing them with Vande Simil trains.
These are the special features of Vande Sim.
These are somewhat different from conventional non-AC trains. Like the Vande Bharat, the front and rear engines are push-pull type.
There will be a maximum of 24 Link Hoffman Busch (LHB) coaches.
Compared to the seats in conventional trains, these are better. There are also charging points at each berth.
As in Vande Bharat trains, the coaches will have announcement screens and audio system for passengers.
CCTV cameras will also be installed for the safety of passengers. Vande Bharat trains have automatic doors.
Bio vacuum toilets are installed to ensure cleanliness and prevent bad smell.
