In this Adventure with Bernie I explore the Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Created by the impact of an asteroid estimated to be about 15 metres wide and travelling at 15 kilometres per second.
The crater averages around 875 metres in diameter and 60 metres from the rim to the present crater floor. It is estimated to be less than 120,000 ywars old.
Remnants of meteorite can be found around the site, but you would need to be extremely fortunate. Removal of these fragments, rocks or anything you may find of interest is forbidden.
