An extremely rare white whale has been spotted off the east coast of Australia. This is one of only three white humpback whales that have been recorded in the region.

The first white humpback whale was spotted in 1991 and was named Migaloo. One of the other white humpbacks has been dubbed Migaloo Junior. Scientists speculate the whales have a genetic mutation like albinism or hypo-pigmentation.
