,The tiny island of Elafonisos is located on the southern side of Peloponnese, just below the peninsula of Laconia. Mostly famous for its exotic waters, Elafonisos is one of the Greek islands that is considered as the Caribbean of Greece. On the South area Simos, Sarakiniko, and Panagia are the most beautiful beaches, with golden sand and pristine waters. This area is well known by sailors, as the bays in the South offer protection before or after passing Cape Malea. The large bay of Sarakinico and the smaller bay of Frangos are open to South Southwest, they have a friendly sandy bottom and with light winds an annoying swell can enter in the Bay. The Bay of Lefki on the SE side, just behind Sarakiniko bay is open to easterly and the bottom is weed with sand patches. There is only one village on the northside, where all activities are concentrated.
