Since 2013, German Development Cooperation has been supporting the Togolese government in improving conditions for the development and implementation of the decentralisation process at national and local level. Since July 2017, a co-financing agreement between the European Union and the German Cooperation has been signed. It aims, through the stand-in of the Decentralisation and Local Governance Programme (ProDeGoL), to optimise the collaborations of each of these institutions in their respective support to the Togolese government. Thus, the ProDeGoL, jointly funded by BMZ and the EU, is implemented by GIZ and now covers all five economic regions of Togo.
This documentary movie presents the ProDeGoL, how it works, the different supports provided and some results and impacts of the program.
Among the mains speakers are:
- the Representative of the Ministry in charge of decentralization, the director of decentralisation and territorial development;
- the representatives of ProDeGoL;
- The local elected representatives of the supported municipalities.
- Citizens and Civil Society representatives
