Landfill Gas to Energy. One unfortunate bi-product of the global economy is waste. Every day around the world waste is created as part of commercial and industrial processes and consumers dispose of unwanted products. Methane generated from the breakdown of this waste represents a major source of anthropogenic GHG emissions. Methane is 25 times more powerful than CO2 as a GHG. Sindicatum Carbon Capital specialist Landfill Gas-to-Energy ("LFGE") Group finances and implements landfill gas-to-energy utilisation projects. In addition to transforming a municipal waste into energy, such projects can qualify for a variety of renewable energy incentives and carbon credits under the Kyoto's Clean Development Mechanism as well as other globally recognised voluntary schemes.
