The above kriti is one among the nine gems[ popularly known as Navaavarana kritis ] composed by sri Mudduswamy Deekshitar in the praise of goddess sri Kamalaamba of Tiruvaaroor .

D.A.Srinivas had many privileges in his life...performing for this album was one of them. He had few practise sessions before the recording, with vidushi smt. S.Rajeswari [who was keen to have him for this musical magnum opus ]...a shaastreeya gaayani, wellknown for her scholarly rendering of rare kritis and raagaas. Out of his interest, Srinivas had written the exact saahitya [ lyric ] of all the nine, which was in proudha samskritam, to emphasize the saahitya through Mridangam, which was like Mukhya praana [ life ] to the composition.
