After Franck Kessie’s move to Saudi Arabia failed to materialise, Barcelona are ready to drop their asking price to accommodate his return to Serie A.

Barca have put the Ivory Coast international up for sale following a troubled maiden season in La Liga, with Juventus registering an interest.

The Spanish club hoped to earn €30-35 million from the 26-year-old’s move to the Middle East, but a deal failed to go through as Al-Nassr left the race to focus on landing Arsenal’s Jorginho.

According to Sport, the current La Liga title holders are willing to negotiate Kessie’s return to Serie A if they receive offers in excess of €15m.

Juventus are at the head of the queue to bring the former AC Milan midfielder back to Italy after missing out on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s signature.

Despite being chased by the Bianconeri, the Lazio playmaker has reportedly agreed to join Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal in a mouth-watering deal.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri is eager to revamp his midfield options in the coming weeks, especially with Paul Pogba’s future in Turin hanging by a thread amid growing interest from Al-Ittihad.

Since Milinkovic-Savic is on the verge of leaving Europe, and Davide Frattesi has joined bitter rivals Inter Milan, Juventus have identified Kessie as an emergency signing.

Kessie made a name for himself in Serie A, going from strength to strength during his four-year stint at Atalanta before joining Milan in 2019 as one of the division’s finest midfielders.

He continued to shine at the San Siro, but a move to Barcelona has proved a step back as he spent most of the 2022/23 season playing second fiddle to Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

But despite his struggle at Spotify Camp Nou, the Ivorian seems reluctant to renounce the Blaugrana shirt, with his representatives being steadfast that the player is unwilling to listen to offers.
