In May of 1997, WMAQ-TV had revised the 1995 news promo with images of Carol Marin had been removed from the promo and instead the footage of Lisa Parker, Mark Suppelsa, Warner Saunders and Allison Rosati is used, along with the footage of Robin George. Meanwhile Charlie Van Dyke still saying "Channel 5 News" instead of saying "NBC 5 News" towards the end of the promo.

The promo was shown during SportsChannel Chicago's Chicago Bulls 1997 Playoff Games in addition to channel 5 itself.
