Hello everyone! Merry Christmas, and I hope you enjoy this short film!
I’m currently an exchange student at Saarland University, and I volunteered to create a short film for the ISC Christmas event (International Student Centrum). Unfortunately, I had to rush everything at the last minute—not entirely my fault, as my costumes didn’t arrive on time—but being a perfectionist, I was really stressed out during filming. I could go on and list everything I wish I had done differently, but I won’t. Everything happens for a reason, and this has been a wonderful experience.
As a film student, I’m still learning, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity and for the help of Xiao Suguo and Gao Lihan in bringing this project to life. I will cherish this project forever and look forward to making it a tradition to watch it every Christmas.
The story is about two exchange students from China who experience Christmas in Germany for the first time, as Christmas isn’t a widely celebrated holiday in China. I’ve added my own twist to the story, blending comedy with heartfelt moments.
It really made me happy to see my film bring laughter to so many people and it has given me the assurance that I have chosen the right career path.
