Edwidge Salomé Aouna is a dedicated civic leader from Cameroon, serving as the Head of the Bureau of Civic Education at the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education.
She is also passionate about menstrual hygiene education and has reached over 5,000 girls through school sensitization programs. Inspired by her own mother’s struggles, Edwidge is committed to advocating for the education and empowerment of young girls in Cameroon and beyond.

The USAID Young African Leaders Initiative hosted the YALI Alumni Expo and Trade Show (YALI Expo) from November 11 to 14, 2024, in Cape Town, South Africa. The YALI Expo overlaped with the AfricaTech Festival (also in Cape Town) from November 12 to 14, 2024, which boasted 15,000 attendees, 300+ exhibitors, 1,000+ start-ups, and 150+ investors.

The YALI Expo convened, connected, and celebrated YALI alumni making positive change in their communities by creating networking opportunities and showcasing innovations for sustainable impact.
