This discussion presents the history and evolution of nuclear safety cases in the UK.
The presentation then goes on to help nuclear supply chain participants understand how their piece of kit, cog, service, etc., fits into a Safety Case for a nuclear facility or power station to demonstrate that the risk of operations is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). Examples are developed and thoughts shared on future developments.
The presentation was delivered by Stephen Kidd, CRA’s Civil Safety Case Service Lead, and Assystem Energy and Infrastructure’s Head of Discipline for Safety. The presentation was part of the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) UK Webinar Meeting series.
