Kosovo's emergency authorities rescued several hundred people from their flooded homes on Thursday and Friday, as heavy rains caused water levels to rise in rivers in the western and northern parts of the country.
Drone footage shows flooded villages, some buildings with water up to their roofs.
Gjin Gjinaj, a resident of Klina, walked through his flooded house, showing the damage to his kitchen.
"Water flooded into the house within 20 minutes. The damage is evident in the kitchen, the yard, garage, and other houses in the area. The entire first floor has been affected and all the appliances have been destroyed," Gjinaj said.
Novi Pazar, Serbia was hit by severe flooding on Friday, after the Raska River overflowed its banks, causing extensive damage in the surrounding areas. Local authorities have taken emergency measures to try to contain the flooding, with lorries seen unloading sand and earth to construct an embankment on the river bank.
Also, fields were submerged and villagers had to be rescued by military vehicles around the village of Obot, Albania on Friday after the area was hit by severe flooding as a result of heavy rainfall. The Albanian Ministry of Education said that classes have been suspended in 56 schools due to the weather.
