Loose leash walking is not something most dogs automatically know how to do, it must be taught.
In this video you will see how I typically get this process started and it always starts within the home. Cooper, my foster dog, has been with me for a week and a half and we have not stepped foot out the front door yet-that means he has not been on a walk yet either because there is no point in walking him if it is not going to be pleasurable for him or me. Once we perfect this skill in the home, then we will proceed outdoors (stay tuned for those videos).
