Exactly 40 years ago today (3/18/78), this song topped the US Billboard hot 100 charts and would stay there for the next 2 months (8 consecutive weeks in total at #1). So to commemorate that, here is my drum cover of the Bee Gees' Night Fever.
I have always dug this song, even when I first heard it way back when. Now this may seem like an easy song especially with its four-on-the-floor stomp, but to me it was deceptively tricky! The drummer, Dennis Byron, was playing so behind the beat, that for me, it was hard to manage. And with me having issues with my timing (mainly playing ahead of the beat and a tendency to rush at times. Maybe that's why I'm a huge Rush fan, haha!) and groove too, well this was a challenge! But a fun one nonetheless. I think I did ok, haha!
Anyway, get your dancing threads on, get your disco on and I hope you dig it!
