Their state-of-the-art cable-laying ship, with its distinctive turntable, can hold and methodically lay 5,000 tons of cable. Working in tandem with a tensioner, it ensures the cable's descent synchronizes with the ship's movement. After connecting the initial segment, the cable is accurately cut, passed through a protective system, and the quadrant manages its length to avoid overbending.
The installation process culminates with the connection of the offshore wind farm to the onshore grid. These connecting cables are then buried beneath the ocean floor for added protection. Depending on the seabed's nature, trenches are carved out, with the cable laid and subsequently anchored to the shore. Such innovations highlight the industry's dedication to optimizing energy generation while prioritizing safety and environmental preservation.
