Shooting my WASR AK. Subsonic Brown Bear 196gr ammo going through a Silencerco Omega 9k.
Wasn’t sure if the barrel was actually concentric, just risked it and gave it a try. Worked out just fine with the 9k. Next time I’ll try the Omega 300.
Surprisingly it even cycled the gun without the can on the end. I’ve seen lots of people online have trouble with this ammo, whether it isn’t subsonic, or it will not reliably cycle the gun, even with the back pressure from the silencer. I only fired 20 rounds, but it was 100% reliable for those 20.
It felt interesting shooting this ammo, you could feel the action cycling very slow. With standard ammo, the action cycles very concussively, with almost a pop, but with this ammo it felt like the BCG was barely reaching the back of the rails.
