The ASEAN Spouses Circle (ASC) in Washington, D.C. and the Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide (AAFSW) were proud to share the vibrant cultural diversity of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to more than 500 guests from diplomatic corps, students, and cultural enthusiasts who attended the "ASEAN Culture Day" at the U.S. Department of State on Monday (10/30).
Representing the Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Washington, D.C., Charge d'Affaires Sade Bimantara highlighted the importance of cultivating the beauty of culture and people-to-people connection.
Madame Ayu Heni Rosan thanked the ASC for being a fine example of women-supporting-women. She also passed the ASC leadership baton to Madame Tran Thi Bich Van of Vietnam and Madame Datin Seri Haflin Nazri Aziz of Malaysia as the next Chairwoman and Vice Chairwoman of ASC.
Indonesia was proud to be represented by the Wonderful Indonesia Dance--a medley of traditional dances from different regions--by Santi Budaya, LLC, and an interactive angklung session led by Mrs. Ari Peach that once again highlighted the message of Unity in Diversity, collaboration, mutual respect, and social harmony.
We invite you to visit and experience the mesmerizing beauty of ASEAN and look forward to welcoming you to our countries!
