Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri said that the violent incident shows that this "government is using politics to mow down farmers". Priyanka Gandhi said she is not committing any crime by going to meet and wipe off tears of the families of the victims. "Why are you stopping us? You should have warrant", Priyanka Gandhi Vadra further added. She slammed the government over the incident and said she has no words to describe/condemn what happened in Lakhimpur Kheri. On October 3, 8 persons including 4 farmers were killed in a violence in Lakhimpur that broke out during protest against Ministers visit.
