How do you build #culture in a #remotework environment? There are a lot of elements!
One of the most important is your all-hands meeting. For us at @Utb, this is a Monday meeting that sets up our week.
We discuss the usual business stuff, numbers, scorecards, company-wide announcements etc but the real purpose of this meeting is #connection
Each team member shares some personal good news which helps us build a sense of community. We have a laugh, share our reactions and generally have a good time 😀
The team @Utb work 100% remotely and we often get asked how we maintain such a high-energy, cohesive and fun team culture. Here’s a glimpse into our secret sauce:
📲 We jump on a call and chat to one another as though we were in person. Text-based comms are tricky, so if it needs a call, we encourage it! Some people tend to be chattier than others though so depending who it is, you might need a buffer in your calendar (looking at you @mrs_j_anderson 😉)
👥 Our trainers train together in person at any opportunity. This often means travelling together too so we get to know each other really well personally and professionally
🏆 We have strong core values which we live and breathe and help keep us accountable for managing our buckets and energy so that we are always at our best
🤝 We have Monday weekly all team huddles where we share our good news - business and personal. It’s a really great way for us to build connection across our whole team, not just those we talk to day to day
What do you do to foster connection in your remote work environment?
