Metal Slug Tactics was announced in 2021 and I could not have been more excited to play it. While not obsessed, I do like the series for the art style. The pixel-based characters are extremely expressive and that is true in this latest game too. Instead of a run-and-gun action platformer though, this game is a tactical experience with a twist I did not see coming: it’s also a roguelike. Was this combination of genres a good idea?
