This film documents events that took place in Prof. Stuart Ewen's Introduction to Media Studies Class at Hunter College in 1999. On the first day of the semester, with hundreds of students waiting for the course to begin, Ewen doesn't show up. What follows is an intergalactic search for the errant educator, making use of a newly installed satellite tracking system designed to hone in on his every move. In Part 2 Prof. Ewen is finally located, enjoying his morning repast at a local dive and begins his loquacious cab ride to Hunter College. Part 3 reveals subsequent events, including his dash to class and a nail-biting conclusion. Commentaries follow the conclusion.
