PCT Southern Terminus to Lake Morena County Park

First day on the PCT, what an adventure! We got a ride to the Southern Terminus by Cowboy Dave and were left to hike all the way back to our car at Lake Morena 20 miles away. We got to see "the Wall" which apparently recently construction was completed. The first couple miles we saw the occasional border patrol driving by. It was a long hot September day and Hauser Canyon didn't disappoint and took everything out of us to scale up and over at the end of a long day on the trail. There was a lot of smoke in the sky from a nearby fire that burned all week plus in the last mile of the trail we hiked thru a small area that caught fire the day before our hike which the whole area was dumped with fire retardant, something I've never seen upfront like this before.
